The JLC Polaris ref. E859 was made in 1764 pieces between 1963 and 1970 in all its variants. All model variants have the same stainless steel case model, blacks dials, date at 3 o’clock and the K825 caliber. It has an alarm audible underwater, is waterproof at 200m thanks to the patented ‘Piquerez Compressor System’. All the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris watches were made entirely in Switzerland to ensure perfect standards.
I suggest this excellent article to know more:

The production of the 1764 Polaris watches was:
• Prototype in 1963: 50 units
• 1965 version: 500 units
• 1968 version: 1214 units .
• 55 units produced in 1970 (calypso version)
The Polaris was delivered with a TROPIC plastic strap 22mm or on demand with a steel bracelet produced by “JB Champion USA “ (very difficult to find these days).
This watch:
Here I have for sale my E859 JLC Polaris, model 1968, with its original box (including outer box), warranty booklet (undated, unsigned), its age correct genuine Tropic strap, and the originale JB Champion steel bracelet. Will also add two 22mm straps that I have used in these years (see below and images).
The watch is in excellent conditions, it went back to JLC at LeSentier in 2003, i.e. three years before I purchased it from a German collector. I subsequently had it serviced by my master watchmaker in 2009, and it has been used very sparingly since. It will need a service soon, but no parts should be needed for that.
It has quite a hefty case (42 mm diameter), but wears well on the average wrist. It comes with the JBC bracelet, an original age-correct Tropic, an Horween leather strap with butterfly clasp, and a waterproof leather Dimodell strap.
Price is GBP 24,700 = EUR 28,000 = USD 30,000 paid by bankwire.
*MY APOLOGIES: Just noticed that in a few images one of the spring bars shows its head! Sorry, I did not mount it properly, I. will fix it when the moment comes*
